Those who appreciate stage to screen adaptations will be excited to know that Miss Saigon is in the pipeline.
The CEO of United Artists Paula Wagner as slated the project which will involve the show’s original producer Cameron Macintosh.
With a tentative release date of 2011, a director is yet to be confirmed and a screenplay has not yet been seen.
The Opera Madame Butterfly was the inspiration for Miss Saigon set during Vietnam War. It revolves around the story of a young American G.I., Chris, who falls in love with a bar girl, Kim, in 1975 Saigon. The catastrophic events on the war tear the two apart.
