TRIVIA BITS … CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT

TRIVIA BITS …
CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT
At Christmas time, in many parts of the world, people wander from house to house singing carols. In some European countries, carol singers dress as the Wisemen and carry a large star to remind people of the Star of Bethlehem. The Australian custom of singing carols by candlelight in parks may have started about 100 years ago when miners in Moonta, South Australia, gathered to sing carols by the lights of candles which they had stuck with clay to the brims of their safety hats.
