SCREEN TESTS
Screen tests, although an important part of the casting process, are not always reliable in indicating an actor’s potential.
Fred Astaire’s first screen test was famously marked in the studio report “ Can’t act. Can’t sing. Can dance a little.”
Clark Gable, Shirley Temple, Rock Hudson and Brigitte Bardot all failed early screen tests before moving on to become Hollywood major stars.
