TRIVIA BITS ...
MOVIE SPLIT PERSONALTIES
Many actors, particularly comedians, have played several roles within one movie. As well as showing the actor’s virtuosity – the role can be relied upon for extra publicity.
Some of the most memorable roles have been:
Kind Hearts and Coronets (1948) - in which Alec Guinness played with different roles.
Dr Strangelove or : How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) – in which Peter Sellers played three roles
The Nutty Professor and The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps – in which Eddie Murphy played most of the large Klump family - seven and eight roles respectively
Perhaps even more impressively, in the days before sophisticated make-up, prosthetics and digital re-touching, a British actor, Rolf Leslie is recorded as playing 27 different roles in Sixty year a Queen (1913) – an early Ealing Studio film about Queen Victoria.
