The musical adaptation of the film Elf has set an opening date of November 10 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, New York. Previews will begin on November 2 for a limited holiday engagement through January 2, 2011. Casey Nicholaw will direct and choreograph the show.

Elf features music by Tony nominee Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Tony nominee Chad Beguelin and a book from Tony winners Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin. No casting has been announced.

Based on the hit 2003 film of the same name, Elf follows Buddy, a Christmas elf who finds out he is actually human and leaves the North Pole to search for his real family in New York City.
