Spider-Man will finally get to sling his web on Broadway! The delayed Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark will begin rehearsals with its full cast on August 16, according to The New York Times. Select cast members, including star Reeve Carney who will play Peter Parker and his superhero alter-ego, will begin choreography rehearsals and flying lessons on July 26. No performance dates or additional casting has been announced at this time, but Next to Normal Tony nominee Jennifer Damino is rumored to be the show's female lead.

The Julie Taymor-directed musical spectacle, which features music from U2 members Bono and The Edge, was originally set to open at the Hilton Theatre in February, but was postponed until later in the year after troubles arouse surrounding the show's $50 million budget. Attached stars Rachel Evan Wood and Alan Cumming then dropped out due to predicted scheduling conflicts.

"I can't wait for the world to see this thing," Carney wrote on his Twitter page. "It's finally happening. I honestly can't believe I'm getting paid to do things my mom would have killed me for when I was a kid. Ha!"
