MOVIE TRIVIA …
ROBERT ALTMAN
Before his career as a film director, Robert Atman briefly pursued the career of dog tattooing.
Just after Word War II, Altman and an associate established a business tattooing identification numbers onto unfortunate pet dogs. Something they hoped would make them rich quickly.
Despite being invited to Washington DC to tattoo President Harry S Truman’s dog, they failed to make a success of the business and went their separate ways.
Asked in 2001 whether he regretted giving up dog tattooing for film making, Altman enigmatically replied,”Well … they’re both about the same.”
