Betty White has won the Emmy Award for outstanding guest actress in a comedy series for her hosting turn on "Saturday Night Live."

The veteran actress was not on hand to receive her trophy at today's Creative Arts Emmy Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, but presenters John Lithgow and Clyde Phillips accepted the prize on her behalf.

White was the favourite to win the category and was competing against Kristin Chenoweth ("Glee"), Jane Lynch ("Two and a Half Men"), Christine Baranski ("The Big Bang Theory"), Elaine Stritch ("30 Rock") and Kathryn Joosten ("Desperate Housewives").

* Guest Actress in a Drama Series: Ann-Margret, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
* Guest Actress in a Comedy Series: Betty White, Saturday Night Live

* Voice-Over Performance: Anne Hathaway, The Simpsons
* Animated Program: Disney Prep & Landing, ABC
* Short-Form Animated Program: Robot Chicken, Cartoon Network
* Reality Program: Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution, ABC
* Children's Program: Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, Disney Channel
* Variety, Music or Comedy Special: The Kennedy Center Honors, CBS
* Special Class Program: 63rd Annual Tony Awards, CBS
* Commercial: "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like" (Old Spice Body Wash)
* Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Series: The Colbert Report, Comedy Central
