Britney Spears will appear on Glee when the popular TV series features an episode of the singer's music, the show's creator, Ryan Murphy, said in a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest. "Britney, I think 100 percent, is going to be on the episode [for a] couple of scenes," Murphy said, although he did not reveal details about what her role would be.

Britney-centric episode will focus on ditzy cheerleader Brittany (Heather Morris). While Murphy did not specify which songs from Spears' catalogue will be performed, many will result from anesthesia-induced fantasies from dental visits. John Stamos will play a new dentist character who is a potential love interest of the show's resident guidance counselor, Emma (Jayma Mays).

In other Glee news, Mark Salling, who plays bad boy Puck, will release his debut solo album, Pipe Dreams, on October 12, according to EW.com. The album's first single is called "Higher Power."

Glee recently received 19 Emmy nominations including Outstanding Comedy Series. The show will return for its second season in the US on September 21 and feature appearances from Broadway veterans such as Cheyenne Jackson, Carol Burnett and Kristen Chenoweth.
