– TO MUSICALS

ET

With King Kong readying to smash his way to Broadway in a new musical extravaganza, broadway.com asked what other creature feature stars readers would like to take over the Great White Way. The results are in, and everyone's favourite alien, E.T., flew away with the top spot. The 1982 Steven Spielberg blockbuster (which starred a then seven-year-old Drew Barrymore and received nine Oscar nominations including, Best Picture) scored a whopping 41% of votes.

Landing in second place were another batch of creatures from the Spielberg universe: the Gremlins. Gizmo and his not-so-nice counterparts from the 1984 Spielberg-produced movie pulled in 18% of votes. Teen Wolf, the 1985 comedy starring Michael J. Fox, has plenty to howl about as the flick landed in third place with 12% of votes.

The Mummy wrapped itself in fourth place with 8% of votes. The deceased Egyptian king graced the big screen with monster expert Boris Karloff in 1932 and again in 1999 when Brendan Fraser kicked off a new franchise. Yet another Spielberg creation rounded out the top five as the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park stampeded into fifth place with 6% of votes.
