The Simpsons” hits the big 23. FOX announced that they are renewing the beloved cartoon animation for another season which begins next year. The show is already the longest-running primetime series in U.S. television, surpassing "Gunsmoke" last year with its 21st season.
"Like many 22-year-olds, 'The Simpsons' is extremely happy remaining at home, on Fox, and hopes it doesn't have to go out into the real world for many years to come," said executive producer Al Jean in a statement. The renewal of another season means the total episodes for the series will reach 515.
