JULIE ANDREWS TO GET LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT GRAMMY

Julie Andrews to get lifetime achievement Grammy. Dame Julie Andrews will receive a Grammy Award for lifetime achievement, it has been announced.

Dame Julie, 75, the star of The Sound of Music, made her Broadway debut in 1954 in a career that has spanned 60 years.

She has won a Grammy before in 1964 for best recording for children for her role in Mary Poppins, with songs such as Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Country singer Dolly Parton and punk rock group The Ramones will also be honoured at a special ceremony on Feb 12.

"These influential performers and brilliant innovators have been of great inspiration to our culture and industry. Their legendary work has left a lasting impression and will continue to influence generations to come," said Neil Portnow, president of The Recording Academy.
