NICHOLAS COURTNEY PASSES

Long time "Doctor Who" star Nicholas Courtney has died. He was 81. The British actor, best known for playing Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart in the cult show, passed away in London on Tuesday, February 22 after a short illness.

Courtney started his acting career with appearances on U.K. TV series including "The Avengers" and "The Champions" before landing his role on "Doctor Who". He made his first appearance in the sci-fi hit in 1965, and went on to star in more than 100 episodes until 1989.
