The term ‘dinosaur’ was first used by the English anatomist Professor Richard Owen in 1841 at a meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science. It comes from two Greek words: ’deinos’ meaning ’terrible’ and ‘sauros’ meaning ‘lizard’.
