TRIVIA BITS … SEA CREATURES MIGRATION

Some sea creatures undertake a daily migration vertically. Zooplankton – microscopic animals – and fish find their food in the upper layers of the ocean. That is also where the predators are, so they feed near the surface at night and descend into the safety of the deep in the daytime. Phytopankton – microscopic plants – find nutrients in the deeper, cooler waters of the ocean at night, but some to the surface for the daylight that they also need.
