WOMEN WANT TO EAT HEALTHY, NOT DIET

Women aren’t really interested in dieting.

While 70-percent of women under the age of 50 think most people are “too diet-focused,” 91-percent of those taking part in the Better Homes and Gardens “Food Factor 2010″ survey say they’d much rather learn healthy eating habits than dieting strategies.

And more women are focused on money than weight loss. Nearly three-quarters say they’d rather win 20-thousand dollars than drop 20-pounds. But women are focused on health and longevity.

Three out of five would limit themselves to eating only healthy foods if they could live to be well past the age of 70, while just 35-percent would accept passing away at 70 if they could eat whatever they want.

Women also believe dropping a few pounds reflects that they’re doing something right with their food consumption. Fitting into their clothes, having more energy, and losing five pounds are the top three indicators for women that they’re nutritionally on the right path.
