What's in a name? Comic fanatic Nicolas Cage took his obsession a step further than most, when he named his son after Superman's birth name, Kal-El. It's not the first time that the actor has honoured his fanaticism with a name - he changed his surname Coppola to Cage in honour of Marvel character Luke Cage.

What's in a name? Sean Penn and then wife Robin named their son Hopper Jack in honour of family friends - and acting legends - Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson.

What's in a name? My Name is Earl leading man Jason Lee and Beth Riesgraf chose this unusual name for their son in honour of song He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's The Pilot by rock band Grandaddy.

He was actually named after writer Banjo A.B. Paterson. 'He's the famous Australian poet, journalist and storyteller,' explained Rachel. 'He wrote the song 'Waltzing Matilda.'

'What really clinched [the name] for me was my mother telling me that the bluebell is increasingly rare - so it's a precious flower, which seems just right for my daughter,' she said.
