What's in a name? Comic fanatic Nicolas Cage took his obsession a step further than most, when he named his son after Superman's birth name, Kal-El. It's not the first time that the actor has honoured his fanaticism with a name - he changed his surname Coppola to Cage in honour of Marvel character Luke Cage.

What's in a name? Sean Penn and then wife Robin named their son Hopper Jack in honour of family friends - and acting legends - Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson.

What's in a name? David Duchovny and Tea Leoni's first born was given the rather conventional name of Madelaine. But they saved the more unusual name for their second child - son Kyd Miller. The now eight-year old apparently prefers to go by his middle name of Miller.

'The Jungle Book was something that me and Ashlee bonded over. It's a cool name,' said Pete. 'Then we came up with the idea Bronx. We'd been throwing names back and forth for a while.'

BLUEBELL MADONNA
What's in a name? Geri Halliwell gave birth to daughter Bluebell Madonna in May 2006. Former flame Sacha Gervasi is widely thought to be the father, but this has never been publicly confirmed. 'What really clinched [the name] for me was my mother telling me that the bluebell is increasingly rare - so it's a precious flower, which seems just right for my daughter,' she said.
