In the genre of Giant Monster movies only one name tops them all as being the longest running Giant Monster movie series in history with the most movies.
Godzilla first came out in 03 November 1954 with the last released in 06 December 2004. There have been 28 Godzilla movies made in Japan and there might even be more in the years to come.
The oldest Giant Monster movie character ever to grace the silver screen would be King Kong from 1933 to 2005. There have been not nearly as many movies made about him over the decades compared to Godzilla.
