WAKE UP LITTLE SUSIE

The Everly Brothers' 1957 number-one hit Wake Up Little Susie (Cadence 1337), featuring Chet Atkins and Floyd Cramer, was banned in Boston because the word "asleep" appeared in the lyrics. Susie was the name of Don Everly's wife. Wake Up Little Susie can be heard on the soundtrack of the 1973 movie That'll Be The Day.

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel's 1982 hit version of Wake Up Little Susie (Warner Bros. 50053) was recorded in Central Park in New York City at their reunion concert on September 19, 1981.. The song was recorded before 5OO,OOO people, the largest audience ever for a hit record.
