IF AT FIRST YOU DON’T SUCCEED … PREDICT AGAIN!

harold-camping-october-21-2011

Despite being proved wrong on at least one occasion, Harold Camping is having another go! Does this really go to show that the old adage  “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again” is his manifesto.

California preacher Harold Camping says his prophecy that the world would end was off by five months because Judgment Day actually will come on October 21.

The independent Christian radio host has said the apocalypse or the so-called global "Rapture" will come five months after May 21, the original date he predicted.

Camping says he felt so terrible when his doomsday prediction did not come true that he left home and took refuge in a motel with his wife.

Camping, an 89-year-old retired civil engineer, appeared publically on the following Monday night.

Rather than give his normal daily broadcast, Camping made a special statement before the press at the Oakland headquarters of the media empire that has broadcast his message.

He has predicted the global "Rapture" would begin with powerful earthquakes at 6pm local time in each of the world's regions, after which the good would be taken into Heaven.

So with Australia and New Zealand being amongst the  first countries to obtain the 6pm local time on October 21, Camping’s words will be seen to be either truthful or again a “mistake”. If the latter, it will, no doubt, leave Camping with no credibility apart from being known as an old man with ravings!

I am one of the sceptics when it comes to prophesying the exact date for the end of the world and just watch in bewilderment at the many who will be gullible enough to take this man’s word and act in ways that defy normal judgement.
