REMINISCING ...SINGING THE BLUES

The whistling on Guy Mitchell's 1956 hit record Singing The Blues (Columbia 40769) was provided by orchestra leader Ray Conniff. 

In 1956 Guy's version of Singing The Blues was number-one on the pop charts, while Marty Robbins's (Columbia 27545) version was number-one on the country charts.

Guy Mitchell's Singing The Blues and Debby Boone's You Light Up My Life both spent ten weeks at number-one.
