TRIVIA BITS

 

  • German has a word for the peace offerings brought to your mate when you've committed some conceived slight. This is "drachenfutter" or dragon's food.
  • Ghosts appear in 4 Shakespearian plays; Julius Caesar, Richard III, Hamlet and Macbeth.
  • Giacomo Puccina, who composed many famous opera's such as "La Boheme" and "Madam Butterfly" also composed " La Fanciulla del West" set in the Wild West at the time of the Californian Gold Rush.
  • Gilligan of Gilligan's Island had a first name that was only used once, on the never-aired pilot show. His first name was Willy. The skipper's real name on Gilligan's Island is Jonas Grumby. It was mentioned once in the first episode on their radio's newscast about the wreck.
  • Ginger has been clinically demonstrated to work twice as well as Dramamine for fighting motion sickness, with no side effects.
  • Giraffes are unable to cough.
  • Giraffes can not swim.
  • Goats produce cashmere.
  • Golden toads are so rare that a biological reserve has been specifically created for them.
