TRIVIA BITS

 

  • The Great Lakes have a combined area of 94,230 square miles - larger than the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Vermont combined.
  • The Great Pyramid of Giza consists of 2,300,000 blocks each weighing 2.5 tons.
  • The great Russian leader, Lenin died 21 January 1924, suffering from a degenerative brain disorder. At the time of his death his brain was a quarter of its normal size.
  • The Greek version of the Old Testament is called the Septuagint.
  • The Green Hornet is the Lone Ranger's grandnephew.
  • The Guinness Book of Records holds the record for being the book most often stolen from British Public Libraries.
  • The hamburger was invented in 1900 by Louis Lassen.  He ground beef, broiled it, and served it between two pieces of toast.
  • The heart of giraffe is two feet long, and can weigh as much as twenty four pounds.
  • The heraldic term "gules", meaning red, comes from the French word "gueules", meaning a throat.
