The film will take on the biblical story with an "edgier tone". Aronofsky is said to be exploring Noah as, "a man who loves Earth and all of its animal inhabitants, but has become disillusioned with the way humans have treated their planet." He will also dive into his alcoholic tendencies. The guy really enjoyed his wine. There is also major interest in Saoirse Ronan to take on a supporting role.

Emily-Blunt-008Emily Blunt will join Tom Cruise in the sci-fi film that is said to be in the vein of Groundhog Day with a twist. All You Need is Kill is based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka's graphic novel of the same name. The story focuses on, "a soldier in a war against aliens finds himself reliving his last day over and over after being killed. Through the training and battles he experiences in these time loops, he becomes a better soldier. Blunt plays another soldier who fights alongside Cruise."

Polynesian-Culture-historyDisney is looking to create a new action hero to help usher in a franchise set in the great state of Hawaii. The script is set to be penned by Joe Gazzam who has also written 21 Jump Street, Barbarella, and Step Up Revolution. The movie is being billed as an Indiana Jones-style action movie with some supernatural elements and revolves around a gauntlet sent down from gods taken from Polynesian mythology. The Polynesian/Hawaiian mythology is a very untapped subject in Hollywood films.  There is a very large opportunity here to make an exciting action film that appeals to all audiences

tumblr_lvjh809NMg1qb2mnpo1_r1_500Dennis Lehane has received quite the quality treatment in Hollywood - Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone, and Shutter Island were all made with the involvement of top notch talent and performed rather well both critically and commercially.  The latter starred Leonardo DiCaprio. Warner Bros has acquired the rights to another Lehane novel on DiCaprio's behalf.  Live By Night, to be published this fall, concerns the story of several characters from Lehane's novel The Given Day as they make their way through Prohibition and 1920s America.  Leonard DiCaprio is one of the most in-demand actors working today and currently has plans to shoot The Wolf of Wall Street later this year.  Perhaps by the time he's done filming, Live By Night will start production.
