Stephen Fry
It may seem hard to believe, but this modern-day genius, actor and comedian had a very troubled childhood and was expelled twice from boarding schools. Stephen claimed he just generally misbehaved as a teenager and could not be moulded by the school he attended.
Amy Winehouse
Amy Winehouse certainly showed early signs of talent and attended the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School at 12; classmates included Billie Piper and Emma Bunton. However, Amy's well-known rebellious streak was evident at a young age and she was expelled at 13 for "not applying herself".
Elizabeth Hurley
Liz Hurley put in a stellar performance in her youth, receiving a scholarship for a boarding school at the age of 12. Unfortunately, she was subsequently expelled for poor grades. Thankfully Liz didn't need good grades to become the face of Estée Lauder in the early 1990s. The rest is showbiz history.
