Bo Diddley's Bo Diddley (Checker 814) was actually an updated version of the old English folk song, Hush Little Baby. Diddley had originally named the song Uncle John.

Guitarist Bo Diddley played rhythm guitar on two of Chuck Berry's rock songs of the 1950s, Sweet Little Rock and Roller (Chess 1709) and Memphis, Tennessee (Chess 7729).

Bo Diddley's Say Man (Checker 931) actually outsold what is considered to be his "biggest" hit, Bo Diddley.

Prior to taking up the electric guitar, Ellas McDaniel (later to be known as Bo Diddley) studied classical violin.

Chess Records released a jam session featuring Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry without either artist being aware of the album. The album was titled Two Great Guitars.

Bo Diddley both wrote and played on Little Walker's 1955 recording of Roller Coaster (Chess 817).

Bo Diddley played a pawnbroker in the 1983 movie Trading Places.
