REMINISCING ... POINTER SISTERS

pointer sisters 02

Both parents of the Pointer Sisters are ministers.

The Pointer Sisters, Ruth, Anita, Bonnie, and June, sang vocal backup on Chicago's Skinny Boy and on Elvin Bishop's Don't Fight It Feel It (Fillmore 7OO3).

Ruth and Bonnie sang backup vocal on Bill Wyman's 1976 solo album Stone Alone.

One-time professional basketball star Paul Silas is the cousin of The Pointer Sisters.

In 1974, The Pointer Sisters became the first black female group to have a number one country record when they hit with Fairytale (Blue Thumb 254). The song never made the soul chart.

The Pointer Sisters' How Long (Blue Thumb 265) can be heard on the sound-track of the 1980 movie Where The Buffalo Roam.

Bonnie and Ruth sang back up vocal on Bill Wyman's Apache Woman (Rolling Stones 19303), released in 1975.
