"This Is Christmas" - A more perfect name couldn't have been chosen for this wonderful album from Welsh mezzo-soprano superstar Katherine Jenkins.
The combination of her glorious, inspiring voice and rich orchestrations combine to create an album that vividly illustrates, through music, all that is special about Christmas. With a perfect blend of contemporary and religious selections you are transported to the joy, the warmth, the majesty and the glory of Christmas.
"Hark, The Herald Angels Sing" showcases the strength and range of Katherine's magnificent voice; her rendition of "Santa Baby" has a sassy, at times breathless, charm that brings a smile each time you listen; "Sleep Quietly My Jesus" resonates with a soft, pure innocence; and of course, the Katherine Jenkins/Placido Domingo duet of "Come What May" from Baz Lurhman's Moulin Rouge is outstanding!
However, there is just something about "I Wish You Christmas" that makes it THE standout song of the album, it's as though Katherine is sending her personal holiday greeting to each and every fan, her personality and love evident in every note. "This Is Christmas" is THE Christmas album to have this year, from an artist who obviously delights in sharing her God-given talent and joy of music with the world.
