2013 – A Year of Hollywood Sequels

2013 may well be known as the year of sequels. There are already many sequels scheduled to satisfy fans who can't wait to enjoy the continuation of their stories. The list below is by no means definitive.

 

"A Good Day to Die Hard"

Bruce Willis once again fills in McClaine's shoes, while Jai Courtney is introduced as the main protagonist's hot-looking son.

 

"Iron Man 3"

Marvel honcho Kevin Feige has vowed that this film will offer a "very unique directions" that will include further exploration of fan-beloved Tony.

 

"Star Trek Into Darkness"

For long-time fans of "Star Trek" franchise, J.J. Abrams promises "there are definitely nods to prior 'Trek' lore in the film."

"The crew that is in 'Fast Six' are going up against a rival crew, so it's almost like Justice League up against the Legion of Doom" stated Ludacris one of the cast.

 

"The Hangover Part III"

Fans of the first and second "Hangover" definitely would not want to miss this third instalment since it could possibly be the swan song of the franchise.

 

"Monsters University"

"Despicable Me 2"

Plot details of the movie are still kept under tight wraps, but it is revealed that Gru will face a new troublesome villain who will be voiced by veteran actor Al Pacino.

 

"The Smurfs 2"

With the so many questions regarding what it is and why it appears in the characters' life, this movie will surely bring goose bumps and get viewers to the edge of their seats when watching it.

 

"Thor: The Dark World"

Chris Hemsworth claimed this second instalment would be "a lot bigger than what we did even previously" since it would explore all Nine Realms which will be presented in a realistic way, while further exploring Thor's relationship with his girlfriend Jane Foster and his evil brother Loki.

 

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire"

The action aside, this film will present an intriguing conflict as Plutarch Heavensbee sets up a revolution. Also not to be missed is the debut of District 4 heartthrob, Finnick Odair, who is played by one of today's rising stars, Sam Caflin.

 

"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug"

The climactic battle between the titular hobbit and the fire-breathing dragon who stole Erebor will undoubtedly present more dramatic and intense sequence that may provide some of the answers to Bilbo's fate in his epic quest to the Lonely Mountain.
