ROGUE WAVES
A rogue wave, also called a freak wave, is an unpredictable, abnormally large wave that occurs on a seemingly random basis in the ocean.
Rogue waves are often found to occur where waves meet opposing currents, such as in the Agulhas Current off South Africa. They can be of enormous proportions, and sometimes travel at an angle to the prevailing seas.
There are hundreds of stories about these gigantic seas smashing and capsizing small boats at sea.
