1958 – Viggo Mortensen, American actor - His film roles include Aragorn in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, Frank T. 1973 - "The Six Million Dollar Man" premiered on TV. 1973 - Singer/songwriter Jim Croce is killed in a plane crash. He was on his way to a concert in Sherman, Texas when the twin engine plane he was on hits a tree on takeoff. All are killed. Jim Croce was 30. 1973: President Richard Nixon orders Attorney General Elliot Richardson to fire special prosecutor Archibald Cox over access to Watergate tapes; Richardson and Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus resign. The public and government outcry called for Nixon's impeachment.
