EASTER EGGS

chocolate-easter-eggs

Easter eggs are often given to celebrate Easter.

The egg is a pagan symbol of the rebirth of the Earth in celebrations of spring and was adopted by early Christians as a symbol of the resurrection of Jesus.

The oldest tradition is to use dyed or painted chicken eggs, but a modern custom is to substitute chocolate eggs, or plastic eggs filled with confectionery such as jelly beans. These eggs are often hidden, allegedly by the Easter Bunny, for children to find on Easter morning. Otherwise, they are generally put in a basket filled with real or artificial straw to resemble a bird's nest.

JENNIFER HUDSON’S NEW ABLUM FROM PERSONAL GRIEF

Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson was left devastated following the death of her mum Darnell Donerson, sibling Jason and her sister's seven-year-old son Julian King, who were shot in her native Chicago, Illinois in 2008. Jennifer Hudson's former brother-in-law William Balfour has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first degree murder in relation to the killings.

The Oscar-winner has previously admitted she "pretty much secluded" herself away from everyone in the wake of the tragedy, but she worked out her grief during recording sessions for second album I Remember Me, her first new record since the killings.

Jennifer Hudson also reveals collaborator Alicia Keys encouraged her to use her feelings to create the music, telling Britain's Daily Star, "I felt very inspired working with Alicia, who co-produced and co-wrote a lot of the album, along with R Kelly. Alicia told me I was an inspiration and we worked with that.

The most successful musical ever to deal with a sport subject was a variant on the Faust legend, which had been around since The Black Crook. In this tale, a baseball enthusiast sells his soul to the devil - or Mr. Applegate— just for the chance to play ball with the Washington Senators. There is, fortunately, an escape clause, and Applegate, even aided by temptress Lola, must eventually let Joe Hardy return to his long-suffering spouse.

ODD DEFINITIONS

Often words in a modern society take on new, different and somewhat humorous meanings.

Abdicate: To give up all hope of having a flat stomach.

Adminisphere: The rarefied organizational layers beginning just above the rank and file. Decisions that fall from the adminisphere are often profoundly inappropriate or irrelevant to the problems they were designed to solve.

Adult: A person who has stopped growing at both ends and is now growing in the middle.

Aflockalypse: When all those birds fell out of the sky.

Aibohphobia: Fear of palindromes.

Aquadextrous: Possessing the ability to turn the bathtub tap on and off with your toes.

MORE ACCIDENT REPORTS

Accident insurance claim forms ask for a brief statement about how the accident happened. The combination of the finger pointing instinct and the small spaces provided on the forms can lead to some curiously phrased explanations.

    • "My wench slipped, losing my balance, and I hurt my back."
    • "I was unable to stop in time, and my car crashed into the other vehicle. The driver and passengers then left immediately for a vacation with injuries."
    • "To avoid hitting the bumper of the car in front, I struck the pedestrian."
    • "The accident occurred when I was attempting to bring my car out of a skid by steering it into the other vehicle."
    • "When I could not avoid a collision, I stepped on the gas and crashed into the other car."
    • "I collided with a stationary truck coming the other way."

Before they made him they broke the mold.

Anyone who goes to a psychoanalyst should have his head examined.
---Samuel Goldwyn

That's a real step forward into the unknown.

Right or wrong, it's a message!

I feel a lot more like I do now than I did when I came in.

This is generally useful, but not especially.
