Imagine yourself on a wrap-around porch of some grand house basking in the warmth of a summer sunset. Maybe you are simply lounging on a beach with a cocktail in one hand and the hand of the one you love in the other. Perhaps you are in a tuxedo or flaming red cocktail dress and having a wonderfully dry martini (shaken, not stirred) before you get ready to head to the dance floor.
If any of those situations are real or just party of your dreams, this CD from Ultra-Lounge is for you. Rare is the day when you will find some neon decorated, pseudo-tropical paradise lounge or restaurant where drinks were served in coconut cups with little umbrellas. But you can hear the music from them. This CD has the Mambo interwoven in each and every song. You can literally see the band in their white jackets and the lavish costumes on the showgirls as they entertain you.
Yma Sumac drops in for a two song trip down memory lane. You can hear the passion and the fun in her voice. Mariah Carey eat your heart out. The organ tracks are quite amusing, and the Glow Worm Cha Cha should not be missed.
If you ever wanted to visit the famed Coconut Grove or be part of the action with Ricky Ricardo's Band, you need to order this CD. Even if you find that the music is just a throw-back to the days when people in limos were movie stars, it is still a hilarious and joy our romp through yesteryear.
Fix a highball, add a slice of pineapple, play this CD, and enjoy life.

The Aeolus Acoustic Wind Pavilion is a gigantic metal sculpture that sings with the wind at London's Canary Wharf. Designed by Bristol-based artist Luke Jerram and named after the ruler of the four winds in Greek mythology, the sculpture creates a charming sweet sound every time the wind blows through its pipes.
Using no electrical power to assist the melody-making, nylon harp strings are attached to some of its tubes, diverting wind into the centre of the work to create sound. Even the unstrung tubes are tuned to an Aeolian scale to hum at low frequencies.

Avid Seinfeld viewers would be familiar with the episode where Kramer whips up the crazy idea to manufacture a cologne that makes people smell exactly like they had just spent the day at the beach. Calvin Klein went on to steal the idea off him, aptly titling the scent, Ocean.

This camper trailer by Opera is a great-looking one that pulls out all the stops to pamper you in the wild: it comes with two electrically adjustable beds, boiler supplying warm water to the kitchen and the shower, hot air heating, toilet, refrigerator, and low energy LED lighting from the awning all the way down to the floor. Actually sounds better than most apartments.
Reminds me of a very well known Australian building.
Ashes and Roses is the new album from acclaimed singer-songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter on Zoë/Rounder Records. On this, her twelfth studio recording, Carpenter continues to produce writing that is nearly peerless in the way her compositions dig deep into the various extremes of experience. Highlights include the track Soul Companion, which features a special duet with James Taylor. Recorded in Nashville, the 13-track album was produced by Carpenter and long-time collaborator Matt Rollings and recorded and mixed by Chuck Ainlay.
