MOVIE NEWS … JAMES MCAVOY

MOVIE NEWS … JAMES MCAVOY
James McAvoy be playing the role of the man behind James Bond, Ian Fleming, who loosely based Bond's adventures on his own life. According to Pajiba the planned Fleming biopic will supposedly be focusing on Fleming's experiences during World War II, which most influenced the James Bond character. Fleming spent quite a lot of time as brains behind intelligence gathering teams, commanding task forces into Nazi Germany and collecting whatever documents or devices they deemed pertinent to the cause of the Allies. Based on the book Ian Fleming: The Man Behind James Bond, the biopic will be produced jointly by Palmstar and Animus Films, says Pajiba’s source. Palmstar’s focus has been making films based in the literary world, including the latest Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho) project Lunar Park. The budget is reportedly $40 million, a nice chunk of which McAvoy will likely take unless he’s working for scale. McAvoy could easily handle this role quite well, with his range as an actor stretching from period drama The Conspirator, in which he plays John Wilkes Booth (who you may have heard of), to Wanted, where he kicks an inordinate amount of ass. Ian Fleming sounds like it could be an intriguing piece about the life of one of Britain’s most decorated writers and patriots. Put this on your list of movies to keep an eye on.
