RADIO CITY ROCKETTES
The Radio City Rockettes will kick off their 2010 Holiday Season—literally—a bit early this year, flinging those famous gams high with a new spin on their annual “Christmas in August” celebration. The benefit event, titled Kick Across America, brings the Rockettes, as well as a “coast to coast kick-line,” to eight of the 26 cities in which their Christmas Spectacular will tour later this year. Kick Across America begins on August 12, with proceeds benefitting the Garden of Dreams Foundation, a charity for children in crisis.
Kick Across America begins with a midsummer’s holiday celebration outside Radio City Music Hall in New York City. At 1:30PM, the Radio City Rockettes will punctuate the festivities with their signature kick-line, triggering additional kick-lines in Los Angeles, Colorado Springs, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Wichita, San Diego and Fresno. Fans and patrons are encouraged to participate both in person and online, where they can “click and kick” to upload video and pictures of their best Rockettes kick impressions, as well as give the first gift of the Christmas season via donations to the Garden of Dreams Foundation. The Radio City Christmas Spectacular and its famed Rockettes have been a part of the New York holiday experience for 78 years. Performances begin November 5, 2010, and run through December 30.
