There's no business like show business - especially if you're a celebrity trainer. Hollywood demands perfect bodies from its stars, but let's be real: those on-set buffet spreads can be pretty tempting. And so can the fame that comes from losing the weight you've just put on.
There was a long list of celebs that cut the fat and the waistline in 2010. Here's a list of the most dramatic Hollywood transformations.
Jennifer Hudson
The 'Dream Girls' star is the idol of dieters everywhere - she dropped from a size 16 to a size four. And now, she's a national spokeswoman for Weight Watchers
Christian Bale
No stranger to slimming down for flicks, Christian Bale bulked down for his role in boxing film 'The Fighter.' He played a trainer in the movie, and said he made himself run for hours and hours
Natalie Portman
An already petite Natalie Portman trained in ballet for over a year, learning the art and losing 20 pounds for her starring role in 'Black Swan.' At times, she looked downright skeletal.
Drew Carey
The 'The Price Is Right' host wasn't willing to shoulder the burden of all those extra pounds, what with Type 2 Diabetes and the inability to lift his step son. So, he went and lost 80 pounds, and has never looked better.
Kelly Osbourne
It started with 'Dancing With The Stars' and just kept on going: Kelly Osbourne, famously full figured, went all the way down to a size two. And then, blonde.
Kendra Wilkinson
The reality star put on a fair bit of weight during her pregnancy, and she was - publicly - none too happy about it. So she made sure she lost it, and then made sure we knew about it.
Ricky Gervais
Weight loss was no laughing matter for the British comedic genius; he and his girlfriend both lost 20 pounds and gained an entirely different look.
Gwyneth Paltrow
This Oscar winner had to gain 20 pounds for her role in 'Country Strong,' and she said the lack of working out and dieting totally freaked her out. Clearly, she got back to her old body quickly.
50 Cent
50 Cent lost over 50 pounds for his role as a cancer patient in 'Things Fall Apart.' He was playing his late best friend, so he did everything he could to reduce his muscular body to bone, and it clearly worked.
Antony Hopkins
It was all about health for Anthony Hopkins. He shed 75 pounds - gaining a couple back with European desserts - but he's making sure the rest stays off. "I'm in the gym six days a week, I power walk, live on 800 calories a day," he said.
John Goodman
He's made a living in part by playing the big guy, but 'Roseanne' star John Goodman was miserable after his weight ballooned to new heights: nearly 400 pounds. He stopped eating sugar and drinking, and hired a trainer.
Now, he's lost over 100 pounds and looks great.
Tori Spelling
This was weight loss of the bad kind. Already thin actress and author Tori Spelling went skeletal, blaming it on illnesses such as swine flu. Now that she's cured, she'll try to get to a more normal weight.
