“Masquerade, paper faces on parade!”
The Las Vegas production of The Phantom of the Opera made history on June 24 when each of the 1,800 audience members donned the Phantom’s signature white half-masks to break the record of the largest gathering of “Phantoms” ever.
Cast members passed out the iconic masks after the show’s performance in honour of Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular’s fourth anniversary at the Phantom Theatre at the The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino. To continue the celebration, Phantom’s chandelier fell for a second time that night!
Phantom is currently Broadway's longest running show having opened on January 26, 1988. A shortened, updated version from original director Hal Prince began performances in Vegas in 2006.
