November 18th, 1985 marked the debut of Calvin and Hobbes in a grand total of 35 newspapers.
The story centred around an imaginative and rambunctious boy named Calvin and his tiger Hobbes. While Hobbes is viewed as a stuffed tiger by the other people in Calvin's world, we mainly see him through Calvin's perspective, as Calvin's best buddy and partner in adventure.
The strip quickly gained popularity and was published in newspapers around the world when it ended on December 31st, 1995.
