Ethel Barrymore of Broadway’s “Royal Family” of actors often played royalty in plays and movies.

In one of her silent movies, she played a Russian Princess. Amongst the extras was a Russian émigré tailor. He was Leon Trotsky, who moved up to become a leader of the Bolshevik revolution – which put an end to royalty in Russia.

Ethel Barrymore won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the 1944 movie None But The Lonely Heart also starring Cary Grant as her son.
