GHOST THE MUSICAL
Ghost, the new musical based on the hit film, has found a London home at the Piccadilly Theatre. The show will begin previews June 22, 2011, with an official opening July 19. Ghost will replace the revival of Grease that is closing at the Piccadilly on April 30, 2011.
Ghost will feature music and lyrics by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics fame and Glen Ballard. Bruce Joel Rubin is adapting his Oscar-winning screenplay for the stage as well as writing lyrics. Matthew Warchus, who won a Tony Award for helming God of Carnage and is the driving force behind the upcoming Broadway revival of La Bete, is set to direct. Sharon D. Clarke will play the medium Oda Mae Brown (the Whoopi Goldberg role). No other casting has been announced.
