The Annie Lennox Collection is the first greatest hits compilation by Annie Lennox, released on 9 March 2009 and also contains two newly recorded songs, "Shining Light", originally a single by Ash, and a cover of Keane's rare b-side "Closer Now", retitled "Pattern of My Life". The artwork was shot by rock singer Bryan Adams. About the album, Lennox herself said: "It seems like the time has come to release the Collection this year. The songs are timeless, and have become "classics" in their own right". In the UK, the album charted at n# 2 on the Album Charts, the same week that the "Shining Light" single reached n# 39 on the Single Charts, making it Lennox's first solo UK Top 40 hit in 14 years. A limited edition of the album was released only in the UK on the same day containing a second CD with rare songs and a bonus DVD featuring a selection of Lennox's many music videos.
