LOVE NEVER DIES AUSTRALIAN AUDITIONS

David Campell DAVID CAMPBELL

LOVE NEVER DIES, the sequel to PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, is all set to open at Melbourne's Regent Theatre next May.

All that the all-Australian production is in need of now are the stars of the show.

According to a recent Herald Sun article, LOVE NEVER DIES creator Andrew Lloyd Webber said that all roles are open and he has no one in particular in mind for the lead. "But I know exactly what we need," he said. "He's got to be a really charismatic figure and he's got to have a voice to die for.

"Of course Christine (the female lead) has got to be beautiful... and she has to be the most marvellous singer."

Nationwide Australian auditions for LOVE NEVER DIES begin on October 25.

Possible candidates to play the Phantom are set to include David Campbell, Bobby Fox (Jersey Boys) and Mitchell Butel (Avenue Q).

Female candidates for the role of Christine include Annette O'Halloran and Taryn Fiebig.
