LANGUAGE TRIVIA ... “PDX” AND “ORD”
The abbreviation "PDX" (Portland International Airport) is derived from "P" standing for Portland and "DX" meaning long distance or wide reaching.
The abbreviation "ORD" for Chicago's O'Hare airport comes from the old name "Orchard Field."
