CUSACK, SPIDERMAN, CHASTAIN AND LEBOUFF

 

 

john-cusack-00O9John Cusack has become the latest actor being presented with his star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. On Tuesday, April 24, the actor was honoured with the 2,469th star at the unveiling ceremony, which was held in front of the Larry Edmunds Bookshop on Hollywood Boulevard. Celebrated for his accomplishments in his nearly 30-year career, the 45-year-old actor received his star from Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president Leron Gubler. On hand to deliver pleasing speech about him was his sister Joan Cusack and three fellow actors, Billy Bob Thornton, Jack Black and Dan Aykroyd. Also present at the ceremony was director-producer Joe Roth.

 

amazing-spider-man-still05"The Amazing Spider-Man" has yet to open in the U.S. theatres, but already Sony Pictures has tapped screenwriters for its sequel. On Tuesday, April 24, the studio announced that it has picked "Star Trek" scribes Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman to pen the script for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2". On tapping the scribe duo for the next Spidey film, producer Matt Tolmach said, "Alex and Bob have a unique ability to writer great character and spectacular action that makes them pitch perfect for Spider-Man." He added, "They've been friends of ours for a long time and they have an exciting take on the franchise - we're thrilled to have them join the Spider-Man family."

 

jessica-chastain-09It is now reported that Jessica Chastain is also in the mix to star opposite Robert Downey Jr. in the third armoured hero movie. It was Deadline which broke the news that Chastain is in talks to play "a sexy scientist every bit as smart as Tony Stark."

 

 

 

 

Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy get brutal in the first trailer for John Hillcoat's "Lawless (2012)". Coming out via Yahoo! Movies, the gritty trailer shows Shia and Tom as two of the three Bondurant brothers who have troubles with a gangster leader (Gary Oldman) and a dubious deputy (Guy Pearce) for running an illegal business. "Lawless" is adapted from a historical novel of the same name by Matt Bondurant. The film revolves around the three Bondurant brothers who run a small-scale moonshining family business. They later find their bootlegging business under threat in Prohibition-era Franklin County, Virginia. The story is based on a true story of Matt's grandfather and great uncles
