Prince William and Kate Middleton have asked their wedding guests to donate money to good causes instead of buying them gifts, with some of the cash earmarked for survivors of the New Zealand earthquake. The couple is due to exchange vows in London on April 29 and ahead of the ceremony, they have urged guests not to buy them gifts.

They have asked instead for donations to be made to a charitable fund, which will distribute the money to their favourite good causes, including New Zealand's Christchurch Earthquake Appeal, founded in the aftermath of February massive tremor, which left more than 160 people dead. William is due to visit the region later this week.
