In just the first three months of 2011, airlines took in $1.38 billion just from baggage and change-reservation fees.
Speculated possible future fees could include if the airline was desperate for additional income.

In 2010, $5.7 Billion was collected of which $3.4 Billion was from baggage fees. These fees are commonly associated with passengers who check bags or who have oversized bags.
Another $2.3 Billion in fees were collected from reservation changes. These changes included premium seat selection and flight changes.
