TRIVIA BITS ... HUMAN GENOME PROJECT

In 1980, the U.S. Human Genome Project set out to map the complete set of genes that make up the human genome, identifying each gene and the base pairs that compose it. All this information was to be put into t a huge database. The project was expected to take fifteen years but with research groups around the world contributing to the effort and great technological advances , the work was completed in 1993.
