In St Petersburg, Russia stands the State Hermitage Museum built between 1754 and 1762. Walking the State Hermitage Museum’s gallery complex would involve visiting 365 rooms and 322 galleries – a journey of 15 miles (24 kms). It is said the gallery contains three million items and that it would take a year of non-stop visiting viewing to see the entire collection.
