TRIVIA BITS ... STATE HERMITAGE MUSEUM

 

In the heart of St Petersburg, Russia, is the world’s largest museum of art and culture. The name for the gallery is believed to have originated from a reference by Catherine the Great to her little retreat. She was a reclusive monarch who relished the fact that ‘only the mice and I can admire all this’.
